Transitioning to a Three-Year Program

Stony Brook is in the process of transitioning into a 3-year dental anesthesiology residency program.  For the academic year beginning July 1, 2010, we will be accepting 2 residents for the 2-year dental anesthesiology program and 4 residents for a combined one-year modified general practice residency (GPR) followed by a 2-year dental anesthesiology residency program. During the modified GPR, the resident will be spending 5 months in the hospital on medicine and anesthesiology rotations. This comprehensive training will provide the resident with the needed medical background to make their 2-year dental anesthesiology residency more productive and rewarding.
