    Research Interests: Formation, composition and metabolism of biofilms.  Identification of salivary factors involved in oral disease, and the growth and metabolism of oral mixed bacterial populations; pharmaceutical application of salivary components in the control of dental caries and oral putrefaction (oral malodor and gingivitis periodontitis) control of microbial populations; new oral diagnostic techniques and therapeutics.
