Dr. Vincent J. Iacono received a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from New York University, a DMD degree cum laude and certificate in periodontology and oral medicine from Harvard University, and a certificate in immunology from the Forsyth Institute. Dr. Iacono then became an assistant professor in periodontics at Stony Brook University. He achieved the status of Diplomate, American Board of Periodontology and founded the Advanced Dental Education Program in Periodontics at Stony Brook. Dr. Iacono is currently Distinguished Service Professor and chair of the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics, Tarrson Family Professor of Periodontology, and director of Advanced Dental Education Programs. Currently, he is involved in research on periodontal regenerative techniques and dental implants. He published more than 100 papers and abstracts and five textbook chapters and has lectured extensively throughout the United States and abroad.
