Dr. Patterson received her Bachelor of Science in dental hygiene from Caruth School of Dental Hygiene, her Master of Science in anatomy/microbiology from Baylor University, and Doctor of Dental Surgery from The Texas A&M University System – Baylor College of Dentistry. She completed residency in pediatric dentistry at the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana as chief resident. Following residency, Dr. Patterson delivered pediatric dental care in and around the Austin, Texas area until pursuing academics. While in Austin, she was consultant to the Cleft Lip and Palate Team at the Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. Dr. Patterson is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, consultant and examiner for the ABPD, consultant to the AAPD Council on Scientific Affairs, and a reviewer for the Journal of Dentistry for Children and Pediatric Dentistry journals. Dr. Patterson serves as the program director for the Advanced Dental Education Program in Pediatric Dentistry.
