Patricia Swanson, DDS, FACP received her bachelor's degree in biology from SUNY Geneseo, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, graduating summa cum laude and earning induction into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society. She completed her specialty training at the Stony Brook University Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics. Dr. Swanson is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and has served as director of education in prosthodontics at the School of Dental Medicine since 2018. She maintains a faculty practice with Stony Brook Dental Associates.   Dr Swanson serves on councils for the American College of Prosthodontics, Suffolk County Dental Society and New York State Dental Association. Dr. Swanson has been recognized nationally with teaching awards, and has authored publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters. Dr. Swanson currently serves as editor-in-chief of ACP Messenger.
