Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and its Dental Care Center, an
Article 28 Diagnostic and Treatment Center, is the largest provider of primary
oral health care services in Suffolk County. As a result of its modest fees and
participation in dental insurance programs, the Dental Care Center has become
the safety net for the underserved, the pediatric and geriatric populations, patients
with systemic conditions that impact upon, or are affected by their oral health,
and those patients with special needs. These vulnerable groups require primary
oral health care services to maintain their oral and systemic health. The Dental
Care Center is a state-of-the-art facility for the Stony Brook University School
of Dental Medicine. It is the primary training site for dental professionals providing
excellence in oral health care services for the residents of Long Island. In our
clinical teaching facility, well trained students and post graduate residents
offer treatment under direct faculty guidance and supervision. The postgraduate
residency programs offer specialty services, which focus on the management of
advanced clinical cases. Specialty clinics are offered for the management of people
with special needs. An entire range of dental care is available at the Dental
Care Center. All new patients receive an oral examination to detect existing or
potential problems. Based on the findings of the examination the following services
will be provided.
Services include:
Dental Anesthesiology
Endodontics
General Dentistry
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Orthodontics
