Alumni Reunite at Annual Reception
November 2017- Over forty students, faculty and alumni gathered in honor of the annual Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine (SDM) Alumni Reception on Tuesday, November 28th. The lively cocktail reception was held at the minimalist, modern steakhouse, E&E Grille House in Manhattan.
According to Mary Hoffmann, Director of Alumni Affairs for SDM, the evening provides a “terrific opportunity for alumni and students to come together and network.” Current SDM students and residents attend the event, oftentimes making meaningful connections with alumni. Alumni, visiting from throughout New York State, are able to provide valuable advice on their prospective careers and specialties.
Each year, the dinner follows a session of the Annual Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM), “one of the largest Dental Congresses in the World.” The Alumni Dinner’s correlation to GNYDM not only provides an additional opportunity for alumni to reunite, but also creates a forum to continue a dialogue following the seminars and workshops of the day.
Alumni local to Long Island will be provided an additional opportunity to convene on April 17th, 2018 at a reception in conjunction with the Long Island Dental Meeting held in Melville, NY.
