COVID-19 Safety Requirements for the Class of 2023 White Coat Ceremony

  • To enter the Staller Center for the Arts, you must show a form of identification that includes your name and photo (Stony Brook ID card for students, driver’s license, passport, or other forms of identification.) 
  • You must also show ONE of the following forms of proof that match the name on your identification. Acceptable forms of proof include a mobile application, screenshot, image, or paper form. The documentation must include your name. You will not be permitted to enter the Staller Center without this documentation.
    • Proof of completed vaccination (2 weeks after your second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine).
      • Your final dose must be completed by June 9 to attend the White Coat Ceremony
      • Proof of vaccination must include your name and can be shown via downloading the NY Excelsior Pass on your phone or showing a hard copy or photo of your completed vaccination card.
    • Proof of negative results from a PCR test taken within 72 hours of the Ceremony.
      • Your PCR test must be taken no earlier than June 20.
      • Proof of negative test lab results must include your name and state either "negative" or "not detected." A hard copy or photo/screenshot of the test result is acceptable. Results that say pending will not be accepted.
    • Proof of negative results from an antigen test taken within 6 hours of the ceremony (no earlier than 11:30 AM on June 23)
    • Proof of recovery from COVID-19 infection within the prior 90 days.
      • If you have fully recovered from a lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the last three months, and do not have any recent or current symptoms, you are not required to produce a recent negative diagnostic test result, but must provide proof of illness and recovery (e.g., proof of a prior positive test result or completed the order of isolation within the last 90 days via a note from a doctor or medical provider that includes your name.)
  • Face masks are required throughout the event. Members of the Class of 2023 may remove their masks for photos and while crossing the stage.
