Undergraduate Studies The Department of Oral Biology and Pathology offers four courses that gives non-dental undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct supervised laboratory research. The credits earned can be used towards the prerequisites for graduation at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Courses:


HDO 320 / 321 Oral Biology Research 1 / II
The student will conduct independent research under the supervision of one or more members of the Department of Oral Biology and Pathology. The student is expected to submit a written report detailing experimental methods, results, and conclusions of their project. These courses are offered for third year undergraduate students. A copy of the student's transcript must be submitted with the application.
Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. BIO 152, CHE 132 and CHE 134 is recommended.
1-4 credits each, fall (HDO 320) and spring (HDO 321) terms, Dr. Marcia Simon and faculty

HDO 420 / 421 Oral Biology Research III / IV
The student will conduct independent research under the supervision of one or more members of the Department of Oral Biology and Pathology. A copy of the student's transcript must be submitted with the application.
Prerequisite: Permission of instructor. BIO 152, CHE 132 and CHE 134 is recommended.
1-4 credits each, fall (HDO 420) and spring (HDO 421) terms, Dr. Marcia Simon and faculty
