Undergraduate College/University: State University of New York at Binghamton
I was involved in research for two years at Binghamton University while I was an undergraduate. I worked alongside a graduate student, Wahida Ali, in Dr. Karin Sauer’s Microbiology laboratory. Our main focus was testing the effects of various antimicrobial agents, such as tetracycline and chloramphenicol, on biofilms. This helped to determine whether or not the biofilm was resistant to the antibiotic. In this laboratory, I also learned how to apply various techniques, such as Western blotting, PCR, and electrophoresis, to name a few.
