ADA/DENTSPLY Student Clinician Research Program

Description: The Student Clinician Research Program was initially a joint venture between DENTSPLY and the American Dental Association in 1959.  The program has expanded to include 35 countries with 17 Student Clinician programs and over 5,000 student participants. The Student Clinician Research Program has evolved from a table clinic presentation in which the students demonstrated a new technique to poster presentations where the students present the results of their clinical, basic science or public health research. The objectives of the program are:

  • To promote, support and recognize dental research by students and faculty advisors within all dental schools
  • To provide quality standards and guidelines for the dental schools in research, clinic planning and judging
  • To help orient and educate the individual student clinicians toward a successful career that includes dental research
  • To provide SCADA Associates with a network and ongoing opportunities for dental research

The student selected to represent the School of Dental Medicine at the meeting is the recipient of the “Most Outstanding Oral Presentation” at Student Research Day/Leo Sreebny Distinguished Lectureship.
