During the summer before dental school I researched the effect of modified curcumin compounds on the production of inflammatory cytokines and matrix metalloproteinases by human monocytes. This work was completed during the Summer Research Fellowship Program. I look forward to presenting my findings on Student Research Day.

As an undergraduate I studied collagen production by normal human dermal fibroblasts in serum free media. I presented my work at the 2009 Society for In Vitro Biology Meeting and received the Hope E. Hopps, Honor B. Fell, and Student Travel Awards. Additionally, I participated in the Howard Hughes Medical Institute Summer Fellowship Program and the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Program.
