Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine has agreed to become a part of the BigMouthDental Data Repository, joining 17 other member dental schools and institutions that combine to contribute over six million patient records to the BigMouth database. The collaboration will enable students, residents and faculty to utilize the data source to advance their research, answer clinical questions, and treat and serve patients better.

Patrick Lloyd, DDS, MS, dean of Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, was elected by the American Dental Education Association’s House of Delegates to serve on the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), at its annual session in March. His appointment was approved by the American Dental Association’s House of Delegates during the SmileCon 2024 annual meeting, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in October.
Georgios Romanos, professor in the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, was the recipient of this year’s Glenda Payas Outstanding Educator Award, given annually by the Academy of Laser Dentistry.
